This event affords you the opportunity to sample wine from many AVA wineries and wineries that use Shawnee Hills fruit, meet the growers and winemakers behind the success of your favorite vintages and enjoy wine seminars given by local wine and grape experts.

Meet the Many Faces of Chambourcin with State Enologist Brad Beam:  Did you know the Chambourcin wine-grape originated in the Loire valley of France and is still used there today.  Learn how this phenom made its way to southern Illinois to become a widely planted grape that grows into a very food friendly, exciting to drink wine.  Enjoy different styles of Chambourcin and learn about its versatility.

Other opportunites include:  Wine and Food Pairing with the Rend Lake Culinary Institute and a scavenger hunt featuring great rewards by Dr. Brad Taylor's class at SIU Carbondale.
Entertainment

Artisans:  View the juried works of some of the region's best artists and craftsmen employing a variety of media including painting, ceramics, jewelry, fiber art, glass, wood, metal and photography.

Music:  Enjoy the sounds of Bone Dry River Band from 1:30 - 5:30pm.  Bring your chairs, or a blanket, purchase a glass of wine and relax all afternoon. 

Scavenger Hunt:  SIU Carbondale's Wines of the World class taught by one of our AVA vineyard owners, Dr. Brad Taylor, has put together a unique scavenger hunt that promises to be a lot of fun.  It also gives participants that complete the hunt VIP access to several unique events brougt to you by the class.

Saturday, May 2 at StarView Vineyards. Ruth & John's will be there, along with other fine artists from Southern Illinois. Chambourcin grapes are used to make some of the best wines in our region, and this is an opportunity to learn more about this amazing grape.
