RRVAA on Facebook

The River to River Visual Arts Association (RRVAA) has a new Facebook page.  You can find it at http://www.facebook.com/R2RVAA.  This is a great resource for artists in Southern Illinois looking for a place to display their art, as well as for people who are looking for information about handcrafted items from the pretty part of the state.  It will have listings for upcoming art and craft shows as well as information about galleries and displays in the area.  "Like" this page now to keep up with the arts scene in Southern Illinois.

Downtown Art & Wine Fair

Carbondale Main Street is an organization that is working hard to revitalize the downtown area of Carbondale.  One of their innovations is a series of wine and art fairs held in the town square area twice a year.  The next edition of this event occurs Saturday, May 19 from 3:00 - 9:00 pm.  We will be set up on Jackson Street, right in front of Longbranch coffeehouse.  We'll see you there!

Makanda Spring Fest

This weekend brings one of the more unusual shows in Southern Illinois, or indeed, anywhere else.  There's no place like Makanda, and there's nothing quite like Makanda Fest.  This little festival started small, then grew so much they tried to move it to Touch of Nature.  But the die-hards insisted on keeping things going in the village, and this was so much more popular than the official version that the festival returned to the boardwalk and has stayed there ever since.

We are looking forward to this show, with lots of new products and work to show off.

The weather looks to be great, and the bands are always a treat.  When you come, make sure you visit the Rainmaker's garden behind the shop. Lots of great artists, food, springtime...what more could you ask for?
