We are proud members of the River to River Visual Arts Association (RRVAA), a local group dedicated to helping local artists and improving the artistic environment in Southern Illinois. The RRVAA encourages participation by all local artists or those interested in helping them and working with them. Currently we are working on a number of fronts, including a members' gallery show in April, an art show in September, and a website designed to reach out to patrons, informing them of the artists, galleries, and shows here in the south end of the state.
Currently, we have a Facebook page and a blog to which you can turn for more information. You can also drop a line to Ruth & John, and we would be happy to tell you what we can about the organization and its goals.
The next meeting of the RRVAA is Thursday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Cobden Village Hall. We would love to see you there and welcome your input. Have you been harboring a great idea for the arts in Southern Illinois? Come join us and let's make it happen.
