36th annual Heritage Festival. We'll be set up in our usual place in
the gym. This show, being farther away from our home base, has a lot of
artists and crafters we don't see at any other shows. This is a great
chance to get a jump on your holiday shopping. Stop by and say hello.

Vulture Fest - 2013
This weekend in Makanda is one of the most unusual events in the country. Vulture Fest celebrates the winged scavengers which flock to the hills around the village. Makanda, nestled in a valley south of Carbondale, is unique in Southern Illinois, a blend of native, funky, and old-hippy elements which provides a setting found nowhere else. Come on down for the bands, the food, the arts (yes, Ruth & John's will be there again), the Rainmaker's Garden, and some of the best people watching you can find.
This is also the last of our outdoor shows for the season, so come on out and visit us in our tent, Saturday and Sunday, October 19-20, 11:00a-6:00p. The weather looks to be spectacular.

Everyone is invited to attend the “Colorfest of Arts” Show Oct. 11, 12, and 13 at the Anna Arts Center.
As part of this year’s Union County Colorfest activities, River to River Visual Arts Association is holding this show in conjunction with the Center’s production of “Canteen,” a play about WWII hospitality center.
Members of the RRVAA and other select artists will have their work on display. This is a rare opportunity to attend a member-run art show. Southern Illinois is a thriving area for artists, and this is a chance to see what members of the area's leading arts group can do.
October 11 from 6 pm – 9 pm,
October 12 from 11 am – 5 pm
October 13 from 1 pm – 4 pm

Southern Illinois Irish Festival - 2013
This weekend is the Southern Illinois Irish Festival, a celebration of all things Celtic. Head on out to Turley Park in Carbondale and celebrate your heritage, or better yet, someone else's! Lots of great music; vendors; and the Highland Games, big burly people throwing big, heavy objects. We'll be there, too, and Ruth has made a special Celtic knot soap just for this occasion.
